Top 10 music produers in Uganda

Gone are the days when the Ugandan music industry was lacking in the production area and only a few good and experienced producers existed.

These producers who include the legendaries such as Steve Jean, Washington, Paddyman among others were such a great pillar of the Ugandan music scene releasing good pieces of music at a time when the resources we’re scarce.

These led to a breed of young new producers who have taken up the scene and are currently a great pillar in our music industry. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the best producers from no 10 up to no 1 in a descending order.

10. Dr Fizol

Real names Patrick Kamya born in 1991 is a real gem of a producer who has worked with some of the best musicians in the country. These include Jose chameleon, Bebe cool, Pallaso, Eddy Kenzo,spice Diana, Korede Bello and K-switch all from Nigeria among others.

He begun his career in 2004 and is lauded as having been part of the successful launch of Eddy Kenzo’s music career in 2010. He went on to form his own music label and production company known as Avie records and this has seen the rise of artists such as spice Diana.

Fizol has been nominated a whooping three times in the prestigious AFRIMMA awards , Hipipo and buzz teeniez awards.

9. Dan Magic

He might be incarcerated now for his too much love for Hon Kyagulanyi but that doesn’t deprive him of the fact that he’s a great producer in the Pearl of Africa.

He’s regarded as a fine producer that even ghetto gladiator Bobiwine gave him a nickname of Sir which has stuck and gotten identified by his name.

He currently works in Dream studios owned by Paddy man which is the perennial studio from where Bobi wine has produced majority of his career songs.

Song such as ‘Specioza, Kyarenga have all been produced by the Kamwokya based producer.

8.Diggy Baur (Bow wow)

Baur is another top producer in the land with his own studio named Sabula records. Baur has been around the scene for some time and has worked with top musicians such as Chameleon, Pallaso, Spice Diana among others.

Some of the top songs he’s worked on include Kiboko fire a collaboration between Chameleon and Kalifha Aganaga, Hannah by Pallaso among others.

7. Eno Beats

This is another producer that has worked his way to the top and deserves a mention and a seat on the table of the biggest producers in the land.

He has his own studio known as Eno beats studios and has worked with top musicians such as Beb Cool, Sheebah, Vinka among others.

Some of the songs he’s worked on include Katono by Bebe Cool, Nkubika by Vinka, Wankona by Sheebah among others.

6. Herbert Skills (Skills on the beat)

Now Skillz real names Herbert Dramuke is one producer we call international. He’s surely blessed to have worked with some of the best musicians locally and internationally.

On the local scene he’s worked with musicians such as Bebe Cool, A pass Jose chameleon, Bobiwine, Voltage music, Jamal and Peter Miles among others.

On the international scene the audio producer has worked with musicians such as Wayne Wonder, Pitbull, Tory Lanez, Ed Sheeran, Honorebel, Sean Mendez, Beenie man,Shatta Wale among others.

Usually a producer who doesn’t get the credit and mention he deserves he’s been behind songs such as Vinka’s Malaika, most of Kent and flosso’s hit songs, Bebe cool’s for real featuring Pitbull and Honorebel among other songs.

5. Producer Ronnie (Ro-ni)

Uganda is really blessed with massive talent when it comes to this field of producers. Born Matovu Ronald, Ronnie has produced some of the biggest songs in Uganda and absolutely deserves his place among the creme de la creme of Uganda’s top music producers.

Song such as Ssemyekozo by Eddy kenzo, Surrender, Wire wire, Mateeka, Enyanda among others have been produced by him. In the due course he’s worked with arguably Uganda’s finest artists such as Bebe cool, Chameleon, Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah, Vinka, Geosteady among others. He’s also a very great song writer that has written some of the songs he produced for the same artists majority being Bebe Cool’s.

4. Artin pro (Artin on the beat)

Another young producer who’s lit the production room and hammered us with hits after hits. Born Martin Musoke, the 25 year old gained acclaimed fame while working under Jah live studios but later left to make his own studio known as Axtra Nation entertainment.

He’s worked with top artists such as Sheebah, Fik fameika Karole Kasita, Apass, Bebecool and B2C, Patoranking among others.

Some of the top songs he’s worked on include ‘Omu bwati, Onkutudde, Kutama, Chupa ku Chupa,Yaka among others.

Artin is also credited for the first rise of local rapper Fik Fameika with whom they have worked together since the Buligita singer came onto the scene.

3. Nessim (Nessim Pan Production).

It might be hard to believe but yes Nessim is a P.7 drop out but this has never hindered his desire to be one of the best producers that the land has ever seen and has at the moment.

He started his professional career way back in 2013 and soon enough Badi music spotted the talent in him and recruited him to their label.

While their, he worked and produced majority of Apass’s Nva Kampala album that had hit songs such as Tuli ku Bigere, Wuuyo, Memories among others. He also worked with other great musicians such as Radio&Weasel, Sheebah Karungi, Bobi wine, Spice Diana,Winnie Nwagi. He has also worked with international stars such as Konshens, Patoranking, The Ben and Cherry na Nina of Rwanda.

Some of the bangers produced by Nessim include Turn the replay by Levixone, Bankuza, Biri biri, mummy yo, Jjangu ondabe, Super woman among others.

2. Bomba (Bomba made my beat)

Another great young producer who makes it in the top two after leap frogging Nessim, Bomba has surely made his mark felt in the music industry in the past 3-4 years.

Bomba who was working with Nessim at Badi music replaced the latter after he left to form his in own music studio. As most producers have that catchy phrase at the beginning of every song, so does Bomba who’s goes as ‘Bomba made my beat’.

He has been behind great songs such as ‘Yitayo ondabeko, Sharp shooter, Jjangu, Love panic, Repeat it among others and has worked with singers such as Vinka, Winnie Nwagi, Azawi, Chozen blood among others and it’s fair to say the sky is the limit for the young producer.

  1. Daddy Andre (A-andre on the beat)

Who else to top our list if none other than the hottest producer and singer in the land right now, Andrew Ojambo. He first came on to the scene as a producer and has been o around for almost 10 years now.

He also ventured into singing and his breakthrough song was the smash hit ‘You and me’ featuring Lydia Jasmine. He’s gone on to release songs of his own such as ‘Sing for me, Nsowela, Tugende mu church, Nangana and andele the later two being collabos with fellow singer and wife Nina Roz.

It is fair to say that Andre is super talented because he’s not only a singer and producer but also a song writer who has penned a number of songs for different singers as well as his own songs.

Andre has worked with some of the best musicians in the land such as Bebe cool, B2C, spice Diana, Lydia Jasmine, Allan Toniks among others. Some of the hit songs he’s produced include Easy and Wasibukawa by Bebe cool, Sunday by Toniks, Tugende mu church and Andele sang by him. It’s fair to say that he’s by far the hottest producer right now in the land because his singing career compliments his production skills a lot.
