Popular female singer Hajarah Namukwaya was crowned as the best female artist in East, North and South Africa in the recently concluded African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA).
The Onsanula singer beat off competition from the likes of Zuchu from Tanzania, Tanasha Donna from Kenya among others.
Spice Diana who was among the guest performers couldn’t contain her excitement over this award which was her her first international accolade.
These awards were happening for the 7th time since their inception in 2015.
They were hosted by Idris Sultan and Nancy E. Isime virtually.
The award win comes after the controversy that has been surrounding Spice Diana in regards to local awards.
The Source Management singer took to her social media to express her disappointment in the criteria used in determining winners in local awards.
This saw her blasted by fans and award organizers who labeled her as greedy and bitter.
She further warned that she will sue any award organizer who nominates her without her consent.
She wasn’t the only winner in these awards as Big talent boss Eddy Kenzo also bagged the same award in the men’s category.
Other nominated Ugandans included B2C, Beenie Gunter and Douglas Lwanga.
