Singer Joseph Mayanja more known as Dr Jose Chameleone has for the first time tamed his ego and issued a public apology for kissing his brother, Weasel on stage.
The two shared a brief kiss at the Leone Island boss’ recent Gwanga Mujje concert at Lugogo Cricke Oval.
This incident saw the pair insulted, criticized and ridiculed for the incident.
Many wondered what their motive was behind this kiss.
A lot of people interpreted this as a sign of homosexuality between the brothers.
This came in at the time the country is grappling with the rise of homosexuality.
However the singer has now issued an apology through his social media pages.
According to the Katupakase singer, he and his brother were caught up in the heat of the moment.
They therefore regret the incident and he promised that it won’t ever happen again.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the two have exchanged mouth to mouth kisses.
But this was the breaking point for Ugandans.
Apparently Chameleone’s apology came under the guidance of Captain Mike Mukula.
“My sincere apologies to the general public. Weasel and I are brothers and family men. We were caught up in the heat of the moment,” Chameleone wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
“As African men, we respect African values and morals. The act is regrettable and should not have happened and will never happen again. On behalf of the Mayanja family, I kindly apologize,” he added.
